The new reading board games have become an instant favorite in our literacy centers. My students use them to practice vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency while working together, problem-solving, and encouraging one another. One of my favorite moments happened during small-group rotations: a group of students became so absorbed in a vocabulary challenge game that they didn't even realize how much reading practice they were doing. They were cheering each other on, explaining word meanings, and celebrating every round as if they were on a game show!\r\n\r\nWhen the games first arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. They gasped, clapped, and immediately began asking, \"Can we play these today?\" Many of them gravitated toward the boxes, reading the titles and trying to decide which game they wanted to play first. Their enthusiasm showed just how much these materials truly mean to them.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are focusing on building stronger comprehension strategies, and these games fit perfectly into our current lessons. Students will continue using them during centers to reinforce skills we practice during whole-group instruction.
