All of my students are encouraged to find a love in independent reading. I try to instill a desire in my kids to pick up a good book that interests and challenges them. I have a growing classroom library to allow students to check out books. My library has donations from my fantastic PTO, parents, students, other teachers, and books that I have purchased on my own. I am looking for an easier and more effective way of tracking which students have checked out books from my classroom library. The iPad will create an environment where students are able to find the perfect fit book. With the help of an iPad in my classroom, I will be able to create a catalog of all the wonderful books my library has to offer. Students will be able to search for a book that they want to read. This resource will also allow myself and the students to keep track of what books are in and out of the library. Finally, the iPad will ensure that all of my books that I have gathered make it back to my classroom so that other students are able to read the book.
