Having reliable printing supplies ensures lessons run smoothly and students always have access to clear, high-quality resources.\r\n\r\nThe Veggie Straws and Oreo snack packs have also helped create a supportive and motivating classroom environment. These snacks provide students with quick refreshments that help them refocus and stay engaged throughout the day. They have also been used as positive reinforcement to encourage participation, effort, and positive behavior during lessons and therapy sessions.\r\n\r\nOverall, these materials have helped improve student focus, participation, and classroom morale while allowing me to better support the needs of all learners.","fullyFundedDate":1778569531654,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-learning-through-communication/10276950/","projectTitle":"Fueling Learning Through Communication, Printing & Positive Reinforcement","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sued","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7601723"},{"teacherId":7601723,"projectId":10263199,"letterContent":"This project will have a meaningful impact on my students by providing tools and materials that support organization, engagement, communication, problem-solving, and social interaction throughout the school day. As a speech-language therapist, I work with students who benefit from hands-on learning experiences, structured activities, and opportunities to build language and social skills in motivating ways. The materials included in this project will help create a more interactive and supportive learning environment where students can strengthen both academic and functional communication skills.\r\n\r\nThe Scotch Magic Tape will be used daily to prepare and organize therapy materials. In speech sessions, visual supports, vocabulary cards, sentence strips, social stories, and classroom-based activities are constantly being created and adapted to meet individual student needs. Having reliable classroom supplies like tape allows me to efficiently assemble durable learning materials that can be reused throughout the year. These visuals are especially important for students with language delays, autism spectrum disorders, and attention difficulties because they provide clear structure and support comprehension. Durable, organized materials help sessions run smoothly and maximize instructional time.\r\n\r\nThe LEGO Creator Retro Gaming Console set will provide students with a highly motivating, hands-on activity that encourages language development, problem-solving, and collaboration. Many students are more engaged when learning incorporates interactive and creative tasks. Building activities naturally promote important speech and language goals such as following directions, sequencing steps, describing objects, requesting assistance, answering questions, and engaging in cooperative conversation. Students can practice turn-taking, flexible thinking, and social communication while working together toward a shared goal. This type of activity is especially beneficial for students who struggle with expressive language or peer interaction because it creates authentic opportunities for communication in a low-pressure and enjoyable setting.\r\n\r\nThe portable charger will support the technology used during therapy sessions and classroom collaboration. Many speech and language activities are now delivered digitally through tablets, communication apps, visual supports, and educational programs. Ensuring that devices remain charged throughout the school day allows students uninterrupted access to essential learning tools and augmentative communication supports. For students who rely on communication devices to express their wants, needs, and ideas, having dependable access to technology is critical. This charger will help maintain continuity during therapy sessions and ensure students can fully participate in activities without disruptions caused by low battery life.\r\n\r\nThe storage clipboard will help improve organization and efficiency during therapy sessions across multiple settings. As a provider who works with students in classrooms, small groups, and individual sessions, I frequently carry data sheets, visual supports, worksheets, schedules, and writing tools throughout the building. Having a durable clipboard with storage will allow materials to remain organized and easily accessible. This organization directly benefits students because it reduces downtime during transitions and allows therapy sessions to remain focused, structured, and productive. Students thrive when sessions are predictable and well-organized, and this tool will support smoother instruction and data collection.\r\n\r\nThe automatic card shuffler will make games and social language activities more accessible and efficient for students. Card games are frequently used in speech therapy to target skills such as turn-taking, conversation, inferencing, problem-solving, vocabulary development, and following directions. Incorporating games into therapy increases student engagement and motivation while helping students practice communication skills in meaningful social contexts. The card shuffler will save time during sessions and allow students with fine motor challenges or physical limitations to participate more independently. It also adds an element of excitement and inclusivity that helps create positive social experiences during learning activities.\r\n\r\nTogether, these materials will help foster a supportive, engaging, and organized environment where students can build communication and social-emotional skills with confidence. This project combines practical classroom tools with interactive learning materials that encourage participation, collaboration, and independence. By supporting both academic and functional communication goals, these resources will positively impact students across a variety of ability levels and learning styles. Most importantly, these materials will help create therapy sessions that are motivating, accessible, and meaningful, allowing students to feel successful while developing skills they can carry into the classroom and everyday life.","fullyFundedDate":1778183722194,"projectUrl":"project/level-up-communication-tools-for-engagi/10263199/","projectTitle":"Level Up Communication: Tools for Engaging Speech Therapy Sessions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sued","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7601723"},{"teacherId":7601723,"projectId":10160178,"letterContent":"Thank you! Spending the class period cutting up magazines, looking for inspiration, and just coloring provided such a wonderful opportunity to express a little creativity and have time to get to know one another.\r\n\r\nLearning how to use the portfolios has been a new experience for many of the kids. Most had never used plastic sheet protectors, so we spent some time practicing using them. The first pieces we put in the portfolio were from our We Wear the Mask project and our argumentative paragraph about whether August Wilson believed that children inherit the sins of their parents. \r\n\r\nThe portfolio process let them digest and document their feedback by reading and then translating it into their own words. It also forced them to think about how to apply that feedback the next time around.\r\n\r\nWe will continue adding to the portfolio throughout the year. It is my hope that they take its contents home with them at the end of the year and save it for future reflection. When they are freshman in college, they will be able to look back and see how much they've grown and changed. \r\n\r\nAnd that is all because you were generous enough to provide tghe materials for them to preserve their work. The moment the supplies arrived—those vibrant Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads, stacks of Mead spiral notebooks, crisp Oxford loose-leaf paper, boxes of pencils, and BIC pens; my students' faces lit up like it was the first day of school all over again. They were so excited, especially about the easel pads, which they immediately claimed for our group brainstorming sessions. One student, who usually hesitates to share ideas, couldn't wait to grab a marker and jot down thoughts on the giant sticky notes during a science project about ecosystems. It was like the materials gave them permission to dream big and express themselves in new ways. Seeing their enthusiasm and sense of ownership over these supplies was a reminder of how much the little things, like a fresh notebook or a sharp pencil, can mean to a student who's eager to learn but often faces challenges.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these resources every day to support our diverse learners, especially my students with learning disabilities and English Language Learners. For example, we kicked off a collaborative history project where students are creating timelines of key events using the easel pads and notebooks. The college-ruled paper and pencils have been a game-changer for keeping their notes organized, which is huge for my students who struggle with executive functioning. The pens have become their go-to for peer editing, with everyone swapping colorful feedback on drafts. Looking ahead, we're diving into a creative writing unit next, where the notebooks will become their personal story journals. I'm planning to have them use the easel pads to map out story arcs in small groups, encouraging them to build confidence in their ideas and share their unique voices. Your generosity has given my students the tools to shine, and I can't wait to see how their creativity and critical thinking grow as we continue using these materials!","fullyFundedDate":1746499890051,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-futures-supplies-for-st/9171917/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Futures: Supplies for Student Success and Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haque","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3876239_orig.jpg?crop=2735,2735,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674786455417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-haque"},{"teacherId":7601723,"projectId":9022797,"letterContent":"Thank you!
