We are using the games as rewards and incentives after a hard week of work or during low attendance days.\r\nWhen the students first saw the games they all begged to play uno. I introduced new games like Hues and Cues and Artsy Fartsy and now they prefer these games. \r\nI have noticed an improvement in my students writing and critical thinking after playing Hues and Cues. \r\nStudents are more engaged in class discussions after playing in a group setting with students they don't normally talk to. \r\nI hear laughter and teamwork or debate during the game play. Sometimes, I will hop in for a round and get to interact with my students in a fun way. The excitement in the room was contagious, they could hardly wait to open the boxes and start building. We've been using the LEGO kits to explore ecosystem concepts, teamwork, and problem-solving. \r\n\r\nIt's been amazing to watch students who are usually quiet in class take the lead during these activities, offering ideas and troubleshooting designs with their teams. The LEGOs have given them a chance to express creativity, build confidence, and see real-world connections to what we're learning. The most exciting thing to see is the students being kids again. I have seen them crawl and lay in the floor to play with the LEGOs, which is rare for this age group.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to extend these projects into our other units. Students will plan and build models that solve real-world problems, presenting their projects as \"mini engineers.\" They will also build ecosystems and show how different ecosystems work. The materials you helped provide are now a core part of how we explore STEM learning every week.
