They are learning how to listen carefully to an audiobook while holding their own book and trying to follow along. Even if they're not always on the exact same page, they are beginning to understand the concept of tracking print while listening. This has built excitement for stories and helped students stay more engaged during our Library Center time. With the Tonies Box and character figures, I was able to create a more inviting and interactive Library Center. Students now have the opportunity to enjoy books independently while still having audio support, which gives me more time to work in small groups or one-on-one with other students. The materials also help encourage a love for reading in a fun, developmentally appropriate way. A huge thank you to the DonorsChoose community for making this possible!
