The supplies you purchased are bringing smiles to students every day. We are so grateful to not only have materials that support the efficiency of instruction, but we especially love the snacks and prizes that were added to our classroom prize box!\r\n The drawers that were purchased really help to keep us organized and are saving us so much time! With 75 students passing through the classroom each day, we were loosing instructional time passing materials out each day. Now that each class has their own set of drawers, we were able to assign \"Table Captains\" that help to manage the materials. This job gives the students a feeling of responsibility and leadership in the classroom.\r\n We are also so thrilled to have the fidgets, stickers, prizes, and snacks! These help support students social/emotional learning, motivate them to try hard, and reward their efforts when its time to celebrate success. The class all began clapping and cheering when I opened the multiple boxes of treats. The smiles on their faces was priceless!\r\n We are so incredibly grateful for this generous donation! Your contributions have undoubtedly improved the culture and climate of our classroom! In our classroom, we say \"When you do good, you get good.\" Thank YOU for doing good! We've used our new journals to support their SEL check-ins and have allowed students to start the day off strong by reflecting on the emotions they are bringing into the classroom that day. Additionally, our bean bag chair has offered up a new seating opportunity in our classroom, but they especially love it in their Calming Corner so they can have a comfy space to process emotions. \r\n\r\nFor our current life science unit, we're exploring the fascinating world of plants and the decomposition process. Using our new microscopes, students are captivated by the intricate details of plant structures and the dynamic nature of decomposition. Our plant stand, generously provided by our donors, is a central hub for year-round plant studies. Students actively care for the plants, conduct experiments, and learn about environmental sustainability. \r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for the support of our donors, and we're excited to continue using these resources to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1723168152648,"projectUrl":"project/blooming-brains-getting-comfy-and-cozy/8560458/","projectTitle":"Blooming Brains: Getting Comfy and Cozy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stratton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4604003_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522100339342","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dsaile"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41302","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":449,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.8,"schoolId":41302,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Laredo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Laredo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/aurora-public-school-district/laredo-elementary-school/41302"}
