When you're hungry, sometimes it's hard to think about anything else! The ages of my students range from 4-6 years old. For many of them, this is their first time separating from their parents during the day. I have found that a mid-morning snack has helped them to bridge the gap between breakfast and lunch. I am asking for donations of crackers, pretzels, trail-mix, popcorn, and cereal bars to help feed our hungry scholars. When students are well fed they are able to increase their ability to concentrate, participate, and collaborate. If we can make sure they get a snack, they will be able to better focus and really build the fundamental knowledge necessary for them to go onto the next grade and continue to be successful throughout school. This project is important because our students have a very long day and need some healthy yet yummy snacks to help them stay engaged in learning.
