They were excited to see the variety of snacks and personal care items available. The resources provide students with hands-on opportunities to practice executive functioning skills such as critical thinking, decision making, planning, and organization. The color-changing putty has been an especially popular resource. Students were immediately excited when they saw it and loved being able to use it while learning and practicing strategies for managing attention, thinking through problems, and staying focused. The putty provides a fun, engaging way to help students participate in social work activities while developing skills that can be used in the classroom and throughout their daily lives. \r\n\r\nThe Quaker Chewy granola bars have also provided an important resources for students who may need a quick snack during the school day. I'm proud to share that our group earned an average GPA of 3.34 reflecting their hard work and commitment while balancing sports and school. \r\n\r\nIn the student survey \r\n60% enjoyed connecting and talking with peers. The CVC word locks have also been a huge hit! The students have to tap and blend the word on the key in order to find the matching picture. It is so awesome for them to check their own understanding by unlocking the lock. The snap letter blocks are a great way to build words and practice tapping and blending. All of these tools are hands on and have made learning letters and words so rewarding for my students!
