One of our favorite projects so far has been a constellation art project using the watercolor and tempera paints. Students explored constellations and then created their own night-sky artwork, blending watercolors for the background and using tempera paint to highlight stars and patterns. This project allowed them to combine science, creativity, and fine-motor skills while making learning engaging and hands-on. The white copy paper has also been used daily for drafting, drawing, and organizing student work, and the tissues have been a much-appreciated classroom necessity.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited and eager to get started. Especially when they saw the paints. Many immediately began asking what projects we would create and how they could use the supplies. Seeing their enthusiasm and pride in using new materials made the experience even more special and meaningful.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these resources for upcoming art-integrated lessons and classroom activities throughout the year. The paints and paper will support future projects that allow students to express their understanding in creative ways, while also building confidence and engagement. They were remembering historical facts through their interactive journals by creating pictures, maps, drawings of landscapes, etc. as if they were living during that period. They travel back in time and act like they were living during the exploration of America, and through this they documented their experiences based on their knowledge of the time period.
