Your donations helped me to get materials that helped fund not one, but two different class projects. I was able to get embroidery floss, needles, embroidery hoops, buttons, beads, different styles of fabric and stuffing. The students will come up with their own design to make a mixed media embroidery that uses embroidery floss and buttons and/or beads. It gives a new twist to an old favorite art medium. After we complete the embroidery unit we move on to the plushy unit. In this unit the students design and create their own 'plushy'. If you do not know what that is, it is a 3-dimensional, stuffed animal type of thing.\r\n\r\nI have done both of these projects in previous years and it is always a student favorite, and one of my favorites as well. They love the creativity and freedom of creating something completely their own, but also love learning a skill that they can use in day to day life. They always rock these two projects and it's one of my favorite units of the year! The kids are so excited to use the new embroidery floss and new, different fabric patterns.
