My special education students have trouble comprehending text due to a specific learning disability and autism. Most of them also have learned English as a second language because their parents only speak Spanish at home. I use different approaches to reach all students in my classes. Many times, these unique approaches fall outside of what materials the school typically provides, so I occasionally seek the support of our community and Donors Choose in these instances.
