My kids learn best when they aren't worrying about their stomachs growling. They also look forward to them and view them as a reward for their hard work. One thing this grant helped us provide is extra pull up's and underwear for when our students have accidents. Sometimes our parents do not or can't provide extra clothes for their child. It's a big help when we have something to put them on. We have sent some of the snacks home with the students to enjoy the weekend and they love getting to choose a \"go home\" snack. All students in my class are non-verbal but everyone responds to food! Our special needs students that require a little more time to get into the building or the ones that require the use of a lift to get on or off a bus are able to do so while being kept out of the rain, thanks to our amazing umbrellas.
