The ice maker has already become such an important part of my counseling room, and my students use it every single day. One moment that really stuck with me happened when a little first grader came in with tears in his eyes after feeling overwhelmed in class. We grabbed an ice cube together, practiced our breathing, and he whispered, \"Ms. Kenzie, this makes my heart feel calmer.\" Watching him go from upset to peaceful reminded me exactly why this project mattered so much.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the ice maker, their reactions were priceless. One student literally gasped and said, \"You have an ice maker in your room to help us?!\" They love hearing the ice drop into the tray, scooping out a few pieces, and using it as part of their grounding routine. What used to be big, explosive moments are turning into chances for growth, reflection, and connection. The ice maker has made my room feel even more like a safe space where kids know they can come, reset, and then return to class feeling ready.\r\n\r\nGoing forward, we're using the ice maker in small-group SEL lessons—especially when we talk about anger, frustration, and finding tools that truly work for each student. Your support has given my students something tangible and meaningful to help them handle their big feelings, and it's making a real difference. I'm so grateful that you believed in this idea and in the sweet kids I get to work with every day.","fullyFundedDate":1758636812341,"projectUrl":"project/ice-therapy-a-cool-path-to-emotional-re/9681012/","projectTitle":"Ice Therapy: A Cool Path to Emotional Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8836845_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y124&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757508319558","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8836845"},{"teacherId":8494556,"projectId":9231278,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping me fill my classroom library with wonderful books that reflect the cultures represented in my school. The children's eyes lit up as they saw themselves in the stories. One my student's favorite books is \"Your Name is a Song.\" This book teaches children that even though their name may be different and hard for others to say their names are beautiful, powerful songs that they can teach to others. I taught each of my students to sing their names and encouraged them to sing their names for their families at home. My students also made their names into art work that reflects how special their names are. Another favorite book was \"Because.\" This book tells the story of a little girl that was given a ticket to see the orchestea with her Aunt. Because of this experience she fell in love with music and became a musician, conductor and composer. I used this opportunity to introdue my students to the orchestra and to learn how to conduct. Both were beautiful lessons to share with my students.","fullyFundedDate":1744236068102,"projectUrl":"project/little-tigers-music-library/9231278/","projectTitle":"Little Tigers Music Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sumner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8494556_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674059927934","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8494556"},{"teacherId":8494556,"projectId":8970919,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding \"Buckets of Rhythm!\" I have been bucket drumming with students in grades third through eighth and they all love it!
