My students love getting to go down to the main office and act as \"muscle\" to bring up the packages. When we opened these boxes, my students were incredibly excited to see the pencils and expo markers. I even had a few students ask to take a few pencils for over the summer! It was truly a blessing to be given these basic supplies. \r\n\r\nI have some big plans for this new year. The materials arrived just as I am starting to map out our learning for the year, and the resource guides have already impacted some of my instruction. The details in Patterns of Power have already shown me ways to tweak my teaching to help the students notice patterns within individual sentences that will lead them to noticing errors they make in sentences they write. \r\n\r\nThe Writing Revolution 2.0 has impacted me even more strongly. While I have no explicit training in teaching writing, this text has provided me with concrete steps and ideas to springboard writing lessons that actually dive into deepening the comprehension that my students have of text that they are reading. It has already offered me ideas of visuals that I have made to support my students and I have mapped out a direction to go in. The beginning lessons have gone very well and I am excited about what is to come!\r\n\r\nFinally, the Word Ladder with Morphemes books are incredible. They clearly show the changes you can make with prefixes and suffixes and open the door to deep discussions about how these changes impact meanings in words. I have also begun to map out a plan to use these in my instruction once we get past these first few weeks.\r\n\r\nI am so excited at the difference these materials have already made in my teaching and I cannot wait to see the impact of these changes in the growth that my students make. However, when I received these supplies, everything changed! \r\n\r\nThese supplies, whose project I named \"End of Autumn Refresh\" really did refresh my classroom. Students had finally settled into the year, and it was the perfect opportunity to refill some much needed supplies. I am a sticky note fiend, so having colorful notes helps me to stay organized and ready to go. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, these tiered paper organizers are a game changer for both me and my students. I can store upcoming assignments and have my own plans set and ready to go.
