My students are from all cultures and backgrounds. They are from all over the world: Kenya, Sri Lanka, Burma, Sierra Leone, England, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and more. Some are in classes learning English for the first time. They want to learn and yearn for knowledge each and every day. We keep them safe, fed, and warm. Some students have their only meals here at the school. The school is very old. It was built over 50+ years ago. Even though the school is old and is in desperate need of an overhaul, we try and do the best we can with the resources we have. We want our students to have the same education no matter what type of building or classroom they are learning in. We are located in a city setting and our population is made up of 90% free and reduced lunch students. No matter, how hungry, tired or stressed from family life each and every student is amazing and they deserve the best education they can get with the tools necessary to succeed.
