Your support provided my students with materials that allow them to take the plants they grow in our school garden and transform them into meaningful, value-added products.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite projects so far has been making mamaki tea using the dehydrators purchased through your donation. My students were able to harvest mamaki from our garden, learn how to properly prepare and dehydrate the leaves, and eventually package the finished tea. Seeing them realize that something they planted and cared for could become a useful product was such a special moment. They were excited to see the process come full circle and proud to know that their hard work in the garden had resulted in something they could actually use and share.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were immediately curious and excited. The dehydrators, packaging supplies, and other tools made the idea of creating real products feel tangible to them.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue harvesting plants from our school garden and experimenting with different value-added products. Students will explore how we can preserve and package herbs, fruits, and other plants we grow while learning about product development, food safety, packaging, marketing, and sustainability.
