My students are 6th graders. They are mostly of Hawaiian and Filipino ancestry and about 40% receive free or reduced meals. Like most kids their age, they can be rascals but have big hearts. The secret is to keep them busy and interested. I teach science and am always looking for hands-on activities and novel ways to introduce topics.
