Previously, many students struggled to follow along with lessons because they did not have access, or had to share the necessary technology in class. Now, thanks to your support, every student in our room has a high-quality device in their hands, allowing us to dive deeper into Algebra with confidence and precision.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this gift extends far beyond just solving equations; it has leveled the playing field for our students. Having these calculators has boosted the morale of the class significantly, as students no longer feel held back by a lack of resources. The other new quiet mindfulness activities, like origami, coloring books, and the Rubik's cubes, have also been used. \r\n\r\nFor our next steps, I would like to continue to build more quiet activities in the mindfulness area. Some activities I was thinking about adding were knitting/crocheting, lei making, and other puzzle games. I could even create kits that students can check out and use at home. I also plan on having quiet mindfulness events where the entire library will only be open for mindful activities. Because of your donations, I was able to significantly enrich my students' learning experience this quarter in ways that were both academically meaningful and creatively engaging. The Cambridge Shakespeare lesson-planning book you provided was especially impactful. I used it consistently throughout our Romeo and Juliet unit, and it greatly strengthened the structure, depth, and effectiveness of my instruction.\r\n\r\nYour contributions also made it possible for students to engage in hands-on, creative work. The art supplies, including construction paper, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, and thumbtacks, were essential for a creative writing project called My Medieval Romance. In this project, students wrote original scenes inspired by medieval romance and created accompanying artwork. The name tags and beanbags helped me design interactive warm-up activities, get-to-know-you games, and role-playing exercises for Romeo and Juliet, which helped students feel comfortable, energized, and connected at the start of class.\r\n\r\nI am also excited to share that these materials will continue to be used in future lessons. We still have plenty of the construction paper and art supplies, and in the fourth quarter, students will use them to create their own poetry books. Students will write original poems, collect poems we study throughout the quarter, and bind their work into handmade books using construction paper covers and twine. Each poem will be accompanied by student-created illustrations, making the colored pencils and other supplies especially valuable. In addition, the classroom supplies you donated, such as Clorox wipes, a power strip for student Chromebooks, and color-changing LED lights, helped create a welcoming, functional, and pleasant learning environment.
