These materials will help students connect with literature and abstract themes in a visceral way. The theme for our English class this year is Overcoming Challenges. Through VR, students will go on field trips, develop critical understanding, and make connections between our unit theme and literature. In particular, I want students to virtually tour the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. In this way, they will be profoundly moved, leaving the lesson with an understanding of the strength of the human spirit. A virtual tour will also aid students in their ability to explain the systematic nature, scope, and consequences of the Holocaust.
