Many of our students benefit from listening to a book while also reading the physical copy. We were able to loan 3 IPads with headphones to each ELA classroom thanks to this project. This is a huge win for us!\r\n\r\nStudents went bananas for the bookmarks. The joy on their faces when getting to choose which scratch and sniff bookmark they wanted was real. Peach was the definite favorite. A bonus is that our books are coming back smelling like fruit. \r\n\r\nFinally, the kick bands have really helped our students who need to fidget a bit to stay focused on learning. \r\n\r\nAgain thank you so much for supporting our students. Students are currently reading a book that is set during the Great Depression. As such we have learned a bit about the stock market and how finances impact our everyday lives. Students have even made a connection between the struggle during those times and the struggle during Covid for many of their own families. \r\n\r\nStudents are using the iPad and scanner to plan family budgets to see just how difficult it was during those times and how families had to make sacrifices. Students set up a \"store\" in class and used it to shop to see if they were able to stay within budget and then had to make a plan to show how they could make those items last as long as possible. Students who took an interest in the stock market have also enjoyed the game we purchased and have been meeting during lunch to play. Additionally, they are using free stock resources they can access on the iPad to play with their own pretend stocks. These opportunities would not have been possible without your support of our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1726707309924,"projectUrl":"project/financial-literacy-and-the-great-depress/8792259/","projectTitle":"Financial Literacy and the Great Depression","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Peterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5983112_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637497744636","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-peterson6"},{"teacherId":9372216,"projectId":8888455,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my classroom of middle school readers.
