In order to foster the sense of freedom and adventure that should come with choice reading, it is my goal to create a reading nook in my classroom that students can visit when they have time to read independently. In this area, they should find the same comfort that they find in their favorite books. Creating a unique space for choice reading in our classroom will emphasize for my students the value of reading something that you love every day. This is the best way to engage students as passionate readers for the rest of their lives. Reading should stay fresh, exciting, and fun as students transition from elementary to middle school, and beyond!
