It has quickly turned into a moment where my students feel proud, confident, and excited to share their ideas.\r\n\r\nThe first time my students saw our chair, their faces lit up. They immediately started asking, \"When do we get to sit in it?\" and \"What do we have to write to be an author?\" It created instant excitement about writing. Even students who are usually hesitant to read aloud are now eager to take a turn in the chair.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the Author Chair during our writing workshop. Students write stories, personal narratives, and responses to books we read together. When it is their turn, they sit in the chair, share their writing, and the class gives positive feedback like real authors receiving reviews.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using the Author Chair as part of our upcoming writing projects. Students will continue developing their stories and practicing reading their writing aloud with confidence. I cannot thank you enough for investing in my students and believing in hands-on learning. There were wide eyes, gasps, and so many eager questions: \"When do we get to use these?\" \"Can we build anything we want?\" \"Are we real engineers now?\" It felt like Christmas morning in our classroom. Even students who are typically hesitant to participate during traditional lessons immediately dove in. The hands-on nature of the materials gives every child a chance to shine. Some of my quietest students have emerged as natural leaders during STEM time, confidently explaining their designs and encouraging their teammates.\r\n\r\nBeyond the excitement, I have seen tremendous growth in collaboration and communication skills. Students are learning how to share materials, listen to each other's ideas, compromise, and solve conflicts respectfully. These are life skills that extend far beyond our classroom walls. The STEM bins also support our academic standards in math and science. Students are exploring measurement, balance, patterns, force, motion, and problem-solving in authentic, engaging ways.\r\n\r\nYour support has created an environment where curiosity is encouraged and mistakes are seen as opportunities to grow. The STEM bins have strengthened our classroom community and helped foster a love of learning through exploration and discovery. In the photos I uploaded, you can see my students proudly placing their sack lunches in the shopping cart each morning. This simple act gives them ownership, responsibility, and a sense of belonging. It may look small, but it has created smoother transitions, freed up classroom space, and helped eliminate clutter so students can focus more easily on learning.\r\n\r\nThe students are genuinely excited about having a special place to store their belongings. They treat the cart almost like a class helper when lining up to tuck their lunches inside, checking that everything is orderly, and reminding each other where things go. For some of my students who thrive on routine or need a little extra support staying organized, the shopping cart has become their favorite part of the morning. It gives them a predictable system they can manage independently, which boosts their confidence and sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.\r\n\r\nWhile we haven't begun using the DHG Professional Pizza Boxes just yet, those will be introduced after Christmas break, my students are already talking about what it will be like to have a special place to store and transport their artwork. They'll allow us to protect their projects, honor their hard work, and make sure families get to see the amazing things they're creating in class.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting these thoughtful, practical tools. Many people use technology every day at home, but schools rely on it in ways that directly affect student engagement, communication, and instruction. With this upgrade, I can finally access real-time information, classroom management tools, and enrichment resources without switching windows or closing programs every few minutes. This means smoother transitions, quicker access to materials, and far more focused learning time for my students.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting changes for my students has been having a second monitor available for learning. In the pictures I shared, you can see our students listening to a lesson from our librarian about responsible technology use. At the same time, another student is working with our second monitor to complete an activity, while I'm using the primary screen to plan upcoming lessons. This kind of simultaneous, layered learning simply wasn't possible before the graphics board upgrade.\r\n\r\nCertain students, especially those who thrive with visual supports or need extra guidance, have especially warmed to the new setup. They love being able to use the second monitor to view directions, explore enrichment websites, or get teacher-modeled examples without disrupting the rest of the class. One student in particular, who is usually hesitant during independent work, has grown more confident because the additional screen allows them to follow along at their own pace while I manage whole-group instruction on the main display.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just give us a piece of technology, but it also gave us flexibility, efficiency, and accessibility.
