The students were so excited to open the boxes. They started opening the boxes and assembling the nets right away. They were so excited when the materials arrived and even more excited when they were set up in our classroom. \r\nThey love using the wobble cushions at their desks for whole class lessons, in the library for a comfy seat while reading and sometimes they use them as pillows when we come in from recess. The sensory table adds another space in our classroom they can go to during literacy\r\ncenters. When the table is closed, it is used as our word work station. During Fun Fridays, the lid comes off, sensory materials go in and joy spreads throughout the entire classroom. We use the rug as an extra space to spread out during partner work and math centers. During Fun Fridays, we use that space as our STEM area.for students to build, create, imagine and invent.\r\nI am so grateful to every donor for giving my students the opportunity to move around our classroom with these flexible seating options. The club consisted of mostly of 3rd-5th graders. We met every Wednesday after school for an hour. We used the yoga mats and blocks for mindful movement activities. We used the books and other various materials to make calm bottles and art projects. So many kids would say that they looked forward to Wednesdays just because of Mindfulness Club. I can tell you that I also used many of these materials with my Kindergarten class and they appreciate it as well. After a long day, the calming nature of Mindfulness Club was the perfect way to end the day. I am confident that the students in my club are prepared to deal with anything that comes their way. They have a toolkit of strategies to help them thanks to you all! Know that your generosity has had and will continue to have a tremendous impact on these kids!
