Because of your kindness, our classroom has received a full class set of audio podcasting microphones, and I cannot fully express how meaningful this is for both me and my students. Your contribution is more than just equipment—it is an investment in student voice, creativity, and confidence.\r\n\r\nIn today's world, communication skills are more important than ever, and these microphones open up incredible opportunities for my students to develop those skills in authentic and engaging ways. With this class set, every student now has the chance to participate in creating podcasts, recording presentations, and sharing their ideas in a professional format. This ensures that no student is left out due to lack of resources, and it allows us to build a truly collaborative and inclusive learning environment.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, speaking in front of others can be intimidating. These microphones provide a unique bridge—helping them build confidence in their voices in a more comfortable and creative setting. Through podcasting, students can plan, write, revise, and record their thoughts, which strengthens not only their speaking skills but also their writing, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities. They will learn how to organize ideas, communicate clearly, and engage an audience—skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are already brainstorming exciting ways to use this equipment. Students will be able to create podcasts on topics they are passionate about, conduct interviews, share research, and even collaborate on storytelling projects. This technology allows learning to become more student-driven and relevant, giving them a sense of ownership over their work. It transforms traditional assignments into dynamic experiences where students can truly shine.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. Podcasting is a growing medium, and by introducing students to it now, you are helping prepare them for future opportunities in media, communication, and beyond. More importantly, you are showing them that their voices matter—that there are people out there who believe in them and are willing to support their growth.\r\n\r\nI wish you could see the excitement on their faces when we opened these microphones. That moment of joy and curiosity is something they will remember, and it has already sparked a renewed enthusiasm for learning. Your donation has created that moment, and it will continue to impact students every day as we use this equipment throughout the year.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my students and for helping bring this project to life. Your support makes a real difference, and it does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and for the opportunity to provide meaningful, engaging learning experiences because of you.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,\r\nThank you for helping our students find and amplify their voices.","fullyFundedDate":1773166665729,"projectUrl":"project/tsa-audio-podcasting/10138843/","projectTitle":"TSA Audio Podcasting","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hannon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3099728_orig.jpg?crop=2208,2208,x0,y721&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651161037429","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3099728"},{"teacherId":9670755,"projectId":9026362,"letterContent":"The donation of headphones has made a remarkable difference in our classroom, especially for students with disabilities. While many people are familiar with using headphones at home for entertainment, in a school setting they are powerful learning tools. With their own set of headphones, students can access text-to-speech programs, listen to instructional videos, and engage with interactive lessons without distractions from surrounding noise. This allows each child to learn at their own pace and focus on the content in a way that works best for them, fostering independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is the privacy and personalization the headphones provide. They can work on assignments, listen to audiobooks, or participate in language-learning activities without feeling self-conscious. For many, this has transformed tasks that once felt overwhelming into activities they genuinely enjoy. The headphones also make it possible for multiple students to engage in different activities at the same time, creating a more dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who has an auditory processing disorder, has shown incredible growth since receiving the headphones. Before, she often missed key parts of instructions in the noise of the classroom. Now, she can replay lessons, hear every detail clearly, and work through material at her own pace. She's more confident, more engaged, and more willing to participate in group discussions. These headphones may seem like a small gift, but for our students, they've opened the door to clearer communication, deeper focus, and more meaningful learning.","fullyFundedDate":1743009991029,"projectUrl":"project/technology-for-the-classroom/9026362/","projectTitle":"Technology for the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brewer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9670755_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735845454690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9670755"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55803","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1884,"numTeachers":99,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":15,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":8,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":55803,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jenks Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jenks Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/jenks-public-schools/jenks-middle-school/55803"}
