They were fully engaged, asking questions, making observations, and working collaboratively to identify what the owl had eaten.\r\n\r\nThis experience helped deepen their understanding in a way that reading alone could not. Due to these materials I have been able to see a difference in student engagement and achievement. My students love being hands on and these materials allowed them to do so. They were able to use the magnetic whiteboards to practice their spelling skills by writing the correct spelling patterns for the phonemes that they hear in the premade elkonin boxes. They were also in awe that the boards were magnetic, which allowed them to map the sounds they heard with the provided counters before actually writing them. I also love that these boards can also be reused for the next school year. Thank you again for bringing this project to life.","fullyFundedDate":1742931520397,"projectUrl":"project/building-life-long-readers/9055759/","projectTitle":"Building Life Long Readers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5263466_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522732713848","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5263466"},{"teacherId":6460548,"projectId":9486825,"letterContent":"My sincere gratitude to you for your kind support to me to my students. They had so much fun learning all about the life cycles of complete and incomplete metamorphosis. It was so much fun watching them give them names and documenting their growth like it was their own child. :) We had so much fun learning about insects, and how important their role is on our planet. They walked away with a greater appreciation, love, and understanding of insects in general, and that makes my heart happy as a lover of nature myself!\r\n\r\nThank you for giving this amazing gift to my students! We have been able to use it to print very useful curriculum materials in color such as a list of sound spelling cards for each student to have their own personal copy at their desks. We have also used it to print a game set of cards called \"I Have, Who Has\" in color to help learn about compound words. Having the cards in color are not only more engaging, but helps the students to actually see a more realistic view of the items since they are in color. The color printer has also been used for other learning materials such as focus wall posters to go on our classroom wall, pictures of weekly vocabulary words, and worksheets for students. It's amazing how something that we may take for granted such as a color printer, can truly change the learning that takes place in a class.
