We have been using them weekly to organize readings and track out reading and research as we work through our unit 1 topics. They have support literacy skills and had the unexpected bonus of supporting organization skills as well. Students appreciate having a safe space for their work in the classroom and I can see the difference in engagement as we read articles on paper rather than digitally on the chrome books. \r\n\r\nThe organizers have also had a positive impact on organization and my classroom routines. Students know to get their binders and how to use and organize our materials in class. I am looking forward to our first research project to have a definitive measure of the impact the reading and research binders have had on student understanding. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your help in supporting my students success, we all appreciate it so much!","fullyFundedDate":1750774709796,"projectUrl":"project/reading-binders-for-7th-grade-social-stu/9391128/","projectTitle":"Reading Binders for 7th Grade Social Studies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sember","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9455498_orig.jpg?crop=1244,1244,x0,y62&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749037618045","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9455498"},{"teacherId":9461689,"projectId":9333515,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity and support of our classroom writing project! Thanks to you, my 8th grade students now have the tools they need to take ownership of their writing, reflect on their progress, and collaborate more meaningfully with their peers.\r\n\r\nEach student now has their own dedicated file folder to house their writing portfolio—something they are truly proud of. These folders will become a space where students can collect, revise, and revisit their writing throughout the year. I'm excited for students to see their earlier work, track their growth, and celebrate how far they've come at the end of this year!\r\n\r\nThe Expo markers and large Post-it note paper have also made a big impact. Students use them to brainstorm ideas, map out writing plans, and share their thinking in small groups. This kind of visible collaboration has not only helped deepen their understanding but has also built confidence and strengthened classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped my students feel like real writers—writers whose ideas matter and whose work is worth saving. Because of you, my 8th grade students now have the tools they need to engage more deeply with their reading and grow as critical thinkers.\r\n\r\nWith the gel pens and highlighters, students have been able to annotate texts in ways that are meaningful to them. The variety of colors allows them to personalize their learning and helps them visually organize their thoughts. It's been exciting to watch them highlight key ideas, pose questions in the margins, and track themes with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe addition of table trays has also made a big difference in the flow of our classroom. Students can now easily access materials they need without interrupting their focus. Everything has a place, which helps us maintain a smoother, more student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nThese seemingly simple tools have had a big impact: students are more engaged, more organized, and more excited to dive into complex texts.
