These calming spaces have become an essential part of our classrooms, giving students a place to step away, practice coping strategies, and return to their learning with renewed focus. One powerful example came from a 5th grader who often struggles with frustration during math. Instead of leaving the classroom or shutting down, he quietly chose to use the pod, practiced deep breathing, and rejoined his group ready to solve problems with his peers. That moment showed us how these pods are not just calming spaces—they are teaching tools that empower students to manage their own emotions.\r\n\r\nTeachers have noticed students taking ownership of their emotional regulation, with fewer disruptions and smoother transitions back into lessons. The pods provide just enough privacy for students to feel secure, without completely removing them from the learning environment, which has been a game changer for both students and teachers.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are weaving the pods into ongoing social-emotional learning lessons. Students are practicing mindfulness, journaling, and self-reflection while inside, and then applying those strategies during group work and challenging assignments. The next step is helping students transfer these self-regulation skills into real-life situations, building confidence in handling stress both inside and outside the classroom. Because of you, our students have gained not only a physical space for peace but also the tools to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.","fullyFundedDate":1750256150498,"projectUrl":"project/pop-up-pods-for-peace-calming-spaces-fo/9135861/","projectTitle":"Pop-Up Pods for Peace: Calming Spaces for Kids (3rd-5th)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Spivey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9802399_orig.png?crop=250,250,x0,y8&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750022150826","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9802399"},{"teacherId":9802399,"projectId":9128442,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our PK–2nd grade classrooms now have Pop-Up Pods for Peace, and the impact has been incredible! The pods are being used daily as part of our calming corners, providing a safe and comforting space where students can step inside, take a few calming breaths, and reset before returning to their classmates. One memorable moment was when a student who often struggles with big emotions quietly asked, \"Can I go in the Peace Pod to calm down?\"—and after five minutes inside, he rejoined his group and was ready to learn. That small moment showed just how powerful these pods can be in helping students build self-regulation skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the pods, their eyes lit up with excitement! Many eagerly wanted to step inside and explore the quiet space. Teachers shared that students embraced the use of the peace pods and understood the pod's purpose. The sense of ownership and comfort the pods bring has created a more peaceful classroom environment where students know they have a supportive place to go when they need it.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are continuing to integrate the pods into daily routines and SEL lessons. Students are practicing breathing strategies, mindfulness activities, and reflection exercises while using the pods, giving them tools they can carry with them beyond the classroom. The next step is helping students connect what they practice in the pod with how they can manage their emotions during group work, transitions, and even at home. Because of you, our students have not only a physical space to calm down but also the opportunity to build lifelong skills in self-awareness and emotional regulation.","fullyFundedDate":1746699668656,"projectUrl":"project/pop-up-pods-for-peace-calming-spaces-fo/9128442/","projectTitle":"Pop-Up Pods for Peace: Calming Spaces for Kids (PK-2)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Spivey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9802399_orig.png?crop=250,250,x0,y8&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750022150826","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9802399"},{"teacherId":9867478,"projectId":9272668,"letterContent":"In our 3rd grade math class, the donated headphones have been a game changer. Many of our students use online math programs that guide them through lessons at their own pace. With headphones, they can focus without being distracted by what's happening around them. This is especially helpful in a busy classroom where students are often working on different skills at the same time. The headphones help make sure every child can hear, concentrate, and truly engage with the content.\r\n\r\nOur students are so excited to have \"their own\" headphones. For many, this is their first time using high-quality learning tools like this. They love being able to clearly hear the math games, tutorials, and feedback from the programs they're using. It makes learning feel more like a personalized experience It also gives them a sense of responsibility.\r\n\r\nOne student who doesn't have access to technology at home, stated this is their favorite part of the school day. The headphones have helped level the playing field and given every child the chance to learn and succeed. Students are building confidence by using the headphones during quiet practice time.","fullyFundedDate":1746786022918,"projectUrl":"project/tune-in-to-learning-headphones-for-ever/9272668/","projectTitle":"Tune In to Learning: Headphones for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9867478"},{"teacherId":6834268,"projectId":8910689,"letterContent":"As some of you may know state testing is fast approaching.
