These items allow my students to practice different roles in life. Real life skills are just as important as academic skills. Which is why all of my dramatic play centers have some sort of math and/or literacy skill intertwined with essential social skills. Dramatic play allows their imaginations to explore while learning social skills, math skills, and language skills. Such as being able to write a grocery list, deciding what items are healthy for you, interacting with the cashier in a polite way, finding coupons, and using money to pay for the items chosen.
