We had approximately 450 school counselors in CMS who were able to be re-energized as they gathered together by school level to celebrate the school counseling profession and lean into professional growth. Due to your generous donation, we were able to model activities that school counselors could use with their students in small groups, individual counseling, or even in classroom lessons while also providing counselors with a restorative experience. Counselors participated in the following activities:\r\n\r\n-Art and movement activities to use with students such as interactive games, button-making, mantra boards, bracelet making, coloring mandalas, and reflective journaling\r\n-Meditation & yoga activities to practice mindfulness techniques and restore themselves\r\n-Speaker experiences to receive in-depth information from the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, hear updates from the counseling consultant in the NC department of public instruction & learn from a NC retirement counselor\r\n-Consultation and collaboration time with colleagues\r\n\r\nYOUR support helped this event be an overwhelming success and the counselor feedback we have received has been tremendously positive.
