While this is not my first year teaching, it is my first year with a room all to myself, and I wanted to make the most of every corner. The bright rug spruces up my library space, the colorful stools brighten my games corner, and the round cushions fit perfectly inside my storage ottoman (which will hopefully deter my smaller students from attempting to \"store\" themselves inside this year!)\r\n\r\nI am still in the midst of assessments for the start of the year, so I have not yet taught a group with all the new materials, but when my former students have come in to visit, they all immediately notice the new rug and are excited for their year of small group to kick off with new seating options. I've already loaned a wiggle seat to a homeroom classroom for a student who used it in my space and had a much easier time focusing on her work.
