The moment they walked into our classroom and saw the new materials, their faces absolutely lit up. Several students immediately ran to the alphabet bean bags to start matching letters on the rug, while others excitedly explored the phonics games and guided reading strips. It felt like the entire room buzzed with possibility.\r\n\r\nWe are already putting these resources to work in meaningful, hands-on ways. During literacy centers, students use the vinyl alphabet bean bags to practice letter recognition and beginning sounds through movement games—something that has been especially powerful for my active learners. The new phonics board games have quickly become a class favorite; one of my students proudly shouted, \"I can read this word all by myself!\" during our very first center rotation with them.\r\n\r\nThe document camera has also transformed the way I teach whole-group lessons. My students can now clearly see modeling during shared reading and writing, which has made instruction more engaging and accessible for every child. The student mailboxes and organizers have brought much-needed structure to our daily routines, helping students take responsibility for their work and feel more independent.\r\n\r\nThese materials are already opening doors for deeper learning. As we begin our next unit on stretching out sounds and blending to read simple CVC words, students will continue using these tools to build confidence and mastery. The sand timers and brain break activities are helping us develop stronger focus and self-regulation—skills that directly support their success during reading and writing time.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide materials—it created joyful, interactive literacy experiences that my students look forward to every single day. Thank you for giving my kindergarteners the tools they need to grow as confident, enthusiastic readers. Your support truly makes a difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1754934502774,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-literacy-interactive-le/9528884/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Literacy: Interactive Learning in Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rains","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9791989_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y232&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736200291255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9791989"},{"teacherId":4797677,"projectId":9168836,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project! Your generosity made it possible for our students to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that brought the design thinking process to life. With access to new technology and materials, students collaborated to solve real-world problems, test ideas, and reflect on their learning in ways that deepened both creativity and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students has been exploring how their ideas can move from imagination to action. They love using the tools to design, build, and share their projects—and their pride and confidence grow with every success (and even every mistake they learn from!).\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are typically more reserved in class have especially connected with this technology.
