These materials will help my students learn by creating mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors. They will be able to see themselves and identities represented in texts. These students might not personally be able to relate to the characters, but they can learn from authentic stories of people from diverse culture, backgrounds and identities. Having texts that are mirrors, windows and sliding glass doors is important for a classroom library so students can become more accepting of others. I believe that these books will inspire students to be the change they wish to see in the world.
