The new equipment has transformed both our physical education classes and our after-school volleyball club. In PE, students now have the chance to practice proper volleyball skills like serving, setting, passing, and hitting, with enough balls and equipment for everyone to participate fully. In our volleyball club, the new gear has created a team-like atmosphere where students are building confidence, communication, and teamwork while competing and practicing together.\r\n\r\nWhen the equipment first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students couldn't wait to try it out, and their energy filled the gym. For many, it was their first time being able to consistently practice with quality volleyballs and training tools. One memorable moment was watching a group of students who had struggled with serving suddenly find success, and the pride on their faces was priceless. It was clear that the right equipment gave them not only the opportunity to improve but also the belief that they could succeed.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are using this momentum to build stronger PE units and grow the volleyball club into something even bigger for our school community. Students are already asking about hosting intramural games and starting a volleyball team. Thanks to you, our students aren't just learning a sport, they're developing perseverance, teamwork, and leadership skills that will carry far beyond the court. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support in making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746787203219,"projectUrl":"project/lets-play-volleyball/9063154/","projectTitle":"Let's Play Volleyball","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Fritz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2773836_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759341549117","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/coachfritz"},{"teacherId":7609383,"projectId":8842819,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the books! This has helped them develop industry-standard skills that will be valuable in higher education and future careers.\r\n\r\nIncreased Efficiency – Previously, limited or worn-out measuring tools slowed down the drafting process. With an adequate supply of rulers, students can complete projects more efficiently, spending more time on creativity and problem-solving rather than struggling with inaccurate measurements.\r\n\r\nEnhanced Hands-On Learning – Architecture and engineering are hands-on disciplines, and having proper tools allows students to better engage in project-based learning activities, including blueprint drafting, model creation, and technical drawing exercises.","fullyFundedDate":1735513239881,"projectUrl":"project/architecture-and-engineering-stem-class/8909493/","projectTitle":"Architecture and Engineering STEM Class (Drafting)","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McDermott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9743726"},{"teacherId":2773836,"projectId":8752315,"letterContent":"Mindfulness has become a mainstay in our classroom. These elements show students the importance of taking care of themselves.\r\nWe have used the yoga mats to strengthen students physically and mentally. Bringing illustration into the reading equation livens things up for our readers' imaginations.\r\nGraphic novels enhance reading comprehension and vocabulary, engage diverse readers, and foster critical thinking and creativity. As educational tools, they make complex subjects more accessible and engaging, and give the reader more substance to work with while reading.\r\nIn our English honors 3 class, the students have started reading graphic novels recently, and they are enjoying them tremendously. \r\nWe are starting to see real enthusiasm for the written word that was not evident before. Students can pick up a book and understand immediately what its deals with- they can grasp the 'gist' of the book from the text and illustrations. This empowers them to choose books they feel good about at first glance.\r\nWe also see an increase in their testing scores. As the Italians say,\"Hunger comes with eating.\" The more you read the more you want to read! This is certainly true with our graphic novel readers, and we are so appreciative to our donors for this opportunity.\r\nResearch shows the more students read the better their vocabulary, their ability to read and comprehend, and their knowledge of the world.
