Independent Reading of choice books is the number one researched based strategy to develop reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, build stamina, and establish critical thinking skills. These books will help grow my classroom library, where students will be able to check out books and read them both at home and during independent reading time in class. We'll store our new books on the shelves. Reading allows us to travel to places we've never been and experience a life we never knew existed. During a time of social and health unrest, out kids need this more now than ever before.
