It gets tedious and stressful. In addition, I can prepare everything before school starts which helps me as a teacher with preparedness on day 1. \r\nI have the binders and folders ready to go along with my new set of De'Nelian alphabet letters freshly laminated with my laminating paper. \r\nI have already put to use the crayon/craft containers in the classroom. Pete the Cat helps in so many ways with behavior and having a good classroom atmosphere. The children ask me every day when it will be their turn to take care of Pete the Cat. I tell them that Pete has to go back to bed if he is misbehaving. This encourages the students to follow the rules. \r\nMy behavior chart works by letting the students know all day what color they are on and if they will receive a candy at the end of the day. They know the consequences and keep them in mind before breaking a classroom rule or do not follow procedures. \r\nOur composition notebooks are kept in their book bins ready to go for reading and writing time. The Christmas stuffed plush bears and wooden picture frames arrived just in time for Christmas. Students painted and added fingerprints to their picture frame as a gift for their parents. The puzzles have been super fun for the class, but the absolute favorite are the pop it sight word games. The white gift bags were used to make Valentine bags. The baby wipes are so essential we use them daily.
