This project, once funded, will help my students learn their upper and lowercase letters. The students will use the letters to practice naming the upper and lowercase alphabet. They will put them in alphabetic order on a rainbow alphabet board. They will use them to practice spelling and writing common sight words as well as CVC words. They will use the white boards during centers to write the letters and make words with the letters. This is a critical element in early literacy. It will allow them to learn through a hands-on and visual way without the use of worksheets. They can manipulate the alphabet by putting them in alphabetic order, spell words, name the letters and the sounds that represent the alphabet. We can use them to learn our sight words by listening to sight word songs and spelling them as we hear the songs.
