These resources are especially valuable in our small, rural Alaska school, where access to classroom supplies can be limited and every contribution makes a meaningful difference.\r\n\r\nThe individual whiteboards and markers are wonderful tools for encouraging student participation and checking for understanding. Instead of calling on just one student to answer a question, I can ask everyone to write a response and hold up their boards. This allows every student to participate, gives students who may be hesitant to speak in front of their classmates an opportunity to share their thinking, and provides immediate feedback about their understanding. We have blinds, but they just don't allow the classroom to get dark enough.
