Throughout the week students had to write a presentation to deliver on Friday and they were all happy to get new journals and pencil to start. The calming tools have become a helpful part of our classroom routine, giving students a positive way to self-regulate when they need a short break.\r\n\r\nThe graph paper and folders have also made a huge difference. Students now keep their graph paper and class notes organized in one place, which makes it easier for them to look back at their work and feel confident during independent practice. Having the right materials readily available has reduced stress and helped students stay engaged in learning.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll continue using these supplies as we move into new math units, encouraging students to build stronger organization habits and take more ownership of their learning. This was undoubtedly one of the toughest projects to complete. This year, our students received less free time during lunch, which made it difficult to complete the projects in a timely manner. In past years, students had more free time at lunch. \r\n\r\nDespite the limited time, I had three students who were elated and committed to building the LEGO sets. Another challenge came from one of the LEGO builders, who had a difficult time building the set—so I stepped in to help her. They absolutely enjoyed building their LEGO sets. I then realized that I did not have any straight pins in my classroom to hold the garment together (I made it work with some sewing needles).\r\n\r\nI pinned her sweater together, stitched it up quickly and easily.
