My students were very excited to see new materials come into the classroom and they wanted to help put our new display easel together. Your donation has made an impact in allowing students to become more involved in our daily morning meeting through language and literacy. Each morning, we come together on the carpet for a morning meeting. During this time, I write a daily message that includes a greeting, the day of the week, and which resource class we are going to for the day. In the past, I did not have a board that was of appropriate height for students to assist with writing the message. For awhile, I used the classroom smart board, but student writing pressure at 4 years old is a challenge with technology. The easel is the perfect solution. As the year progressed, my students were able to help me sound out the letters for the morning message and were able to write parts or all of the message themselves. This is such a wonderful skill to develop at such a young age. I also really appreciate that the easel has wheels so that I can adjust the instruction to be in various parts of the classroom if needed. Your donation also allowed me to purchase storage containers for the classroom. This helped tremendously, as I can prepare materials ahead of time and have everything ready for each day.
