The technology allows students to practice skills at their own pace, get immediate feedback, and explore content in ways that go beyond traditional paper-and-pencil tasks. For example, students use the devices for reading support, language practice, and interactive activities that combine visuals, audio, and hands-on learning—something that's especially helpful for diverse learners.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is how engaging and \"real\" the learning feels. They love being able to tap, create, listen, and respond in different ways instead of just sitting and listening. It makes learning feel fun and meaningful, not intimidating.\r\n\r\nI've seen particular growth from students who are emergent bilinguals and those who struggle with attention or confidence. Many of them have really warmed up to the technology because it gives them a safe space to try, make mistakes, and succeed without pressure. Thanks to this project, my students feel more motivated, independent, and excited about learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1765310898541,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-diverse-learners-with-digital/9575748/","projectTitle":"Empowering Diverse Learners with Digital Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9025644_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y225&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723849074202","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9025644"},{"teacherId":9025644,"projectId":9547397,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our new bean bag chair has already become one of the most loved spots in our classroom. We're using it as a flexible seating option during independent reading, small group work, and calm-down moments. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a student who usually struggles to stay focused curl up on the bean bag with a book and read quietly for much longer than usual. It created a sense of comfort and safety that really supported their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the bean bag chair, their faces lit up. There were lots of \"Wow!\" and excited whispers, and they immediately started talking about how cozy it looked. It made them feel like their classroom was a place designed with their needs and feelings in mind.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, we're continuing to build a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and ready to learn. Our next steps include using flexible seating like the bean bag during literacy centers and social-emotional learning activities to help students self-regulate and stay engaged. Thank you for giving my students a space where they feel relaxed, valued, and excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1764727656425,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-learning-with-bean-bags-for-div/9547397/","projectTitle":"Flexible Learning With Bean Bags for Diverse Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9025644_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y225&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723849074202","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9025644"},{"teacherId":9025644,"projectId":9455133,"letterContent":"When our new SEL toys arrived, my students' eyes absolutely lit up! They were so curious and excited to explore all the colorful tools and fidgets, and we spent the first day just talking about how each one could help us calm down, focus, or express our feelings. It was heartwarming to see them immediately start sharing — passing toys to classmates who needed a break and showing each other different ways to use them.\r\n\r\nSince then, these materials have become a daily part of our classroom routine. We use them during our morning meetings, reflection circles, and even in small group lessons. The calm corner has quickly become one of the most popular spots in the room — students are learning to take ownership of their emotions and choose strategies that help them self-regulate. One of my quieter students now confidently reminds others to \"take a deep breath and grab a fidget,\" which shows just how much these tools have empowered them.\r\n\r\nNext, we're working on identifying emotions in different scenarios and practicing empathy through role-play. The SEL toys have made these lessons much more hands-on and meaningful. Thank you for helping create a safe, supportive space where my students can grow not just academically, but emotionally too. Your generosity has made a real difference in how they connect, communicate, and care for one another.","fullyFundedDate":1758636741855,"projectUrl":"project/diverse-learners-reward-system/9455133/","projectTitle":"Diverse Learners Reward System","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9025644_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y225&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723849074202","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9025644"},{"teacherId":9025644,"projectId":9455148,"letterContent":"When the new soccer equipment arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. The moment we opened the boxes, the room was filled with cheers — they couldn't believe all of the shiny new balls, cones, and goals were actually for them! We immediately took everything outside and had an impromptu practice. Watching them dribble, pass, and set up drills with real, quality equipment was such a proud moment.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the gear daily during PE and after-school practice. The students have taken ownership of their teamwork and skill-building in a whole new way. One of my students, who was usually shy about participating, now leads warm-ups and even helps organize mini scrimmages. The new materials have made it easier for everyone to stay active, practice safely, and most importantly — have fun while learning.\r\n\r\nNext, we're working on building our soccer fundamentals and preparing for a friendly match with another local school. The students are setting personal goals, tracking their progress, and learning how teamwork and communication make a difference both on and off the field.
