By providing crochet hooks, yarn, and stuffing, I have been able to introduce a new generation to a crocheting. The students who have joined in with Crochet Club have learned the basics of crocheting and pattern reading. \r\n\r\nA few of the students who have been in Crochet Club have since taken their crochet to the next level. One student has crocheted a baby blanket for a new sibling. Another has learned to crochet amigurumi characters and has expressed interest in starting a small business. \r\n\r\nThis club has also created a safe space for students who are more comfortable staying inside during recess. Your generosity has made the 2nd semester of our year easier and more fun.\r\n\r\nI used part of the donation for dry-erase markers and have given every student one marker and a small board for their desks. We are now free to integrate dry-erase practice into our spelling and math lessons, which has been and will be so impactful. It makes the practice so much easier and more fun!\r\n\r\nI also bought markers, as we ran out of the ones donated in August by December. Our new markers are more vibrant, so our artists are having new ideas with them. The kids are honored to use these, and return them when they're done, so I'll have plenty for next year.\r\n\r\n\tI plan to use the play sand next quarter, during science, in a gifted sensory table. I bought other ingredients from the grocery store to turn it into kinetic sand the kids can use after finishing work.\r\n\r\n\tThank you again. You have made a daily impact on our classroom.
