Students can either play online fluency games or use the donated flash cards. Students have preferred to use the flash cards. A small group of boys have come up with a fun game of how many can they get right before the timer goes off. They have turned it into a fun competition.\r\n\r\nStudents when opening the boxes for the first time were excited but confused. Once we discussed what the flashcards would be used for they began to get pumped up. Students have used the flashcards to help increase the speed of their math fluency skills in addition and subtraction. In the first week of passing out the flash cards to be used at home and the practice in class with the remaining decks students improved drastically on their assessments. \r\n\r\nStudents next goals with the flash cards are to be able to quickly solve addition and subtraction problems anytime they encounter them together. Students soon will have a display of their math fluency achievements in addition, subtraction, and mixed addition and subtraction.
