Students wear them during ELD classes, school-wide events, and while preparing for the MCAP WIDA ACCESS assessment. One especially meaningful moment was when students asked to wear their shirts during practice ACCESS activities. It was amazing to see their collective spirits raised and affirmed.\r\n\r\nSeveral classrooms across the school read aloud the message on the shirt, and this sparked a powerful conversation among multilingual scholars and their monolingual peers. Students and teachers reinforced that being multilingual IS a superpower, and that we should lift up and celebrate our multilingual peers.\r\n\r\nNext, we are continuing to build on this sense of pride as students prepare for ACCESS by setting language goals, practicing test strategies, and reflecting on their growth as English learners. These shirts have helped create a supportive environment where students feel empowered to take risks, use academic language, and believe in themselves.
