My students are curious learners and many of them are new to this country. They are excited and ready to be immersed in a foreign language and culture. Unfortunately there are not enough resources available in my district to provide my students with the materials they need to become strong and successful readers. My students deserve to have literacy and technology materials that can support their learning. They deserve to have engaging and fun literacy centers that will help them to develop and keep a love of reading. The centers that I plan to create are going to be bright and fun, filled with games and materials that will need to be handled many times. The lamination machine will help me to create fun literacy activities and games. The magnetic letters and wiki sticks will be used at two other centers. The tablets will be used as a technology center that will allow them to listen to stories and play reading games. Without these supplies my students will walk into an almost bare classroom on their first day of school that will be lacking the materials that they need for success.
