For our younger students, the new, large parachute has been a vibrant source of wonder and is already integral to developing their gross motor skills and cooperation in games like \"Popcorn.\" Their reactions were pure delight: older students were excitedly strategizing with the new game, and the little ones were wide-eyed with joy at the sight of the big, bright parachute. Looking ahead, our older kids will use Kan Jam to focus on peer coaching and leadership, and our little ones will use the parachute to learn about rhythm and timing paired with music. We also love the fitness dice we use those everyday for warm ups ! The markers help the students write on their whiteboards and have been very accessible because everyone has their own. Students can be responsible with their pencil bags and have managed to keep their supplies together. With their pencil bag and their belonging, students have the opportunity to write sentences, work on their phonemic awareness skills, and math skills. The most exciting product we received was the rug. The students enjoy reading their books in the library while sitting on the soft rug. All the students in the class have warmed up to the carpet. When I unboxed the gift the class was thrilled to have dolls they could not only cuddle but also dress, 'feed', and change. Both boys and girls were able to work together in the house keeping center to model behaviors they may someday use themselves. It fostered discussions about the babies encouraging English language learners to join in the discussion. It encouraged displays of empathy and compassion which we were able to talk about in school. And it allowed them to make up their own stories and act them out which made them better storytellers and will ultimately make them better writers. Stories about babies and family life were sometimes acted out in the center effectively retelling the stories. Thanks again for your donation. The students were excited to get the pockets. They immediately put their school boxes, books, and papers in their new seat pockets. Cleanup was a breeze and so less time consuming. Pack up time was much easier and putting chairs up on the tables easier as well. The chairs were so many bright colors and they were able to put their name tags on them making each chair uniquely theirs.
