The popcorn machine created such a fun and celebratory atmosphere, and the students truly felt recognized for their hard work. In addition to special events, the pantry has become a daily support system. Students are able to request an item during class changes, lunchtime, and before or after school. It has been inspiring to see how respectfully and gratefully they use this resource.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stocked pantry and the new equipment, their excitement was immediate. They continue to express their appreciation each time they visit, often sharing how much it helps them get through the day.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue offering random popcorn days throughout the remainder of the school year to keep morale high and provide students with something positive to look forward to. The pantry will remain open daily to ensure that every student has access to the support they need.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and belief in our students. They made a big difference for them this year. My students who have a hard time concentrating in class were able to complete their work more accurately without the other classroom distractions. One of my students was able to enjoy recess time outside without the noise from cars and school bells. Some of my students were also able to participate in a new state assessment called UPAR using the regular headphones. This allowed me to determine their actual reading level and to determine whether the reading aloud accommodation was correct for them.
