We also have the \"good\" glue now - and students have noticed! \r\nI have also been able to replace students' pencil and crayon boxes so they could get a refresh this semester. Students are responsible for keeping track of their pencils and crayons in their specific, individual container. They start this in August, so things can happen to these cases as they navigate this new responsibility. As soon as they found out about this celebration we would be having and how they got to make their own mailbox and cards, they couldn't stop asking about it every day. They were counting the days to Valentine's all month! My students loved getting to let loose on their creativity and make something entirely their own, too. The boxes were also so simple to put together and made the process so easy. Most students had never made a valentine's mailbox before, so seeing them enjoy this experience for the first time was amazing! Making valentine's cards for each student in their class was also such a learning experience for them. Figuring out \"to\" and \"from\", writing classmates' names, and making sure each valentine was delivered to the right box gave them the opportunity to practice important life skills they'll need. Watching students walk around the room to pass out cards and talk about how much they loved what they were given was so enjoyable. When there are less distractions in their view, students are able to truly show their best work. We have also used the soundproof headphones with almost every student in the room at this point. I have some students who benefit from having them on all day, and they are a completely different student when they do. The focus and attitude adjustment is amazing! Additionally, other students just sometimes need a quieter couple minutes or lesson after something overstimulating or upsetting, and it helps them feel more centered and get back to learning quicker than without. In our classroom, these resources are used daily during structured centers and intervention blocks to help students build the foundational skills they need for writing, self-care, and academic success. Activities like manipulating small objects, building, and using hands-on tools allow students to strengthen the muscles in their hands while staying engaged and motivated. Many of my students receive special education services and benefit from structured routines, and these resources have become part of our daily schedule. Each morning, students independently use tissues, sanitize their hands, and clean their workspaces, building both independence and life skills. One powerful moment was watching a student who typically struggles with transitions independently grab a wipe and clean their area before beginning math—something we had been working on as part of their IEP goals. That small moment reflected growth in self-regulation, independence, and pride in their learning space.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the excitement was immediate and genuine. Students were eager to help organize supplies and take ownership of their classroom. For many of them, having access to these basic health resources is not something they consistently experience outside of school, so it meant a lot to them to have their own space stocked with what they need. Several students commented on how \"clean\" and \"fresh\" the classroom felt, and we've seen an increase in engagement during lessons because students are more comfortable and less distracted.
