My class statement is: \" We will try our best each day. We will be be kind and be a good friend. We will have fun. We are learn in different ways and that is OKAY! We will do our best to learn, so we can get ready for kindergarten. This is my 19 year of teacher and 3 year teaching in TK. It is the first year I see so many of my TK students having compassion for others. From Day 1, I try to teach my students about being kind and to understand that everyone learns differently in their own way. Most importantly I try to teach my students to understand how to embrace everyone's differences and to appreciate everyone! It makes me smile to know that so many of my students are very caring individuals toward each other.\r\n\r\nThis week, we started practicing songs for our Mother's Day event in May and they are so excited. They love to share how special their mom and what their moms do at home with them. The students and I use the dry-erase markers to work through problems on the Wipebooks. We also use them to write our class goals and learning intentions for each subject.\r\nThe crayons have been perfect. The students are learning a writing strategy called RACE, and each letter and task has its own color. They use the red, blue, and green crayons throughout the week. I've placed the boxes in their table bins so they always have access. You can see their work in the pictures. This has really helped them remember to include each part of the strategy when answering comprehension questions.\r\nThe students' favorite donation by far was the styluses—they LOVE them! In the pictures, you can see them drawing their answers to math problems directly on their screens. Before your donation, they were using their fingers, which made it hard to see what they were doing and to work neatly. The styluses have made such a difference in both their accuracy and confidence.\r\nThe word that comes to mind most when I think of your generous gift is success.
