I took the opportunity to include a student who had previously, prior to funding, had a birthday. The anticipation and sense of belonging these bags create has already strengthened our classroom community. Students love watching their classmates receive their birthday surprises, and it's become a tradition everyone looks forward to. It's become a wonderful example of responsibility and care for one another.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students help a new classmate find a jacket that fit just right before heading outside. They proudly explained the \"check-out system\" we created together and even showed him where the laundry bin was for returning items. It was such a simple act of kindness, but it reflected how this project has helped our students build empathy, independence, and teamwork.\r\nThe excitement was instant! Students couldn't believe they'd have jackets available to borrow right in the classroom\r\nOur next step is to continue expanding the system by tracking jacket use (to increase and expand for more student usage) and cleanliness together, using charts and checklists students designed themselves.
