These foundational literacy skills are essential to becoming strong readers, and your contribution has allowed us to reinforce these concepts in engaging, hands-on ways. The students are excited each day to use the new supplies. Through interactive and kinesthetic activities, they can physically identify begging, ending and rhyming sounds to manipulate them. This multi sensory approach has made learning both fun and effective. I have already noticed measurable growth in their academic performance. \r\nYour generosity has not only provided valuable educational tools but also shown my students that there are people who believe in them and care about their future. \r\nMoving forward, I will continue to intentionally incorporate these materials into our daily instruction to provide explicit instruction for all learners. For students who are still developing the ability to identify letter sounds, these resources will allow for additional targeted practice and small group intervention.","fullyFundedDate":1763474789849,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-with-unique-needs-unlock-t/9492019/","projectTitle":"Help Students with Unique Needs Unlock the Joy of Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9341466"},{"teacherId":9492437,"projectId":9527621,"letterContent":"I want to start for thanking you for all the classroom cleaning supplies that have been donated to us! A Big Speaker for Big Energy!\" project. We have utilized our new speaker, and it has been helpful on all levels that we intended it for. Not only have we seen increased participation in our PE program, but we have also seen the impact that the speaker's presence holds. For example, when we have full group PE with grade levels, students get excited when they see me roll the speaker out because they know they will have music playing during our activities. This gets our students engaged from the beginning of PE all the way until the end of it. The transition has been amazing because we are currently in our Dance Unit for indoor PE, but when we do not have a projected video for them to dance along to, the speaker still provides auditory learning. This has also enhanced our learning because students are getting clear and concise audio playing to them during PE.\r\nJust as I had mentioned about how PE goes beyond the indoor classroom environment, students are willing to participate in smaller groups or individually. It would be a challenge to get students to dance and participate during our dance unit, but with the speaker usage, students will gather around it and just dance. It is a joy to see students start dancing and inviting others to join them. This has worked well during our fundraiser events, extended recess, and free play days. One of my best memories I have so far was when students asked if I was going to bring out the speaker for PE all week, because they wanted to listen to the music of the dances we performed during indoor PE. This showed me that they remember what they learned and want to continue learning.\r\nThe biggest impact I have seen with this speaker has been the impact it has on our SDC (Special Day Class). They absolutely love the new speaker! Whenever we bring out the speaker for PE, they gather around it and love how loud it is and the colors it displays. At times, I'll let them press the sound effect buttons or choose music they want to hear. It has been a joy to see that the speaker engages them more during PE and creates energy for them to participate in PE with us. I am very appreciative that I was funded for this gift for our school; I have seen the direct impact it has on students inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you again for helping us motivate more students and make their learning experience memorable.","fullyFundedDate":1763474831176,"projectUrl":"project/pumping-up-pe-a-big-speaker-for-big-ene/9631759/","projectTitle":"Pumping Up PE! My students enjoy them during small-group activities, before beginning math lessons, and independent work time, which helps them stay focused and energized. One specific moment that stood out was during a recent reading project when students were working hard to finish their stories. Having a healthy snack available allowed them to recharge and keep going with big smiles on their faces. It may seem simple, but something as small as a snack helps create a calm, positive learning environment where my students feel cared for and ready to do their best.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were so excited and grateful. Their faces lit up as they realized that kind people had supported them and believed in their success. They immediately began talking about which snacks they wanted to try and thanked me over and over. That happiness carried into their schoolwork and reminded them that learning can be fun and rewarding. As we move forward, we will continue using these resources to support our current lessons where focus and stamina are important. Thanks to our donors, my students have what they need to stay motivated, confident, and ready to learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1763474739566,"projectUrl":"project/hungry-to-learn-help-us-stay-focussed/9623394/","projectTitle":"Hungry to Learn: Help Us Stay Focussed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Aguila","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9492438_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710383532263","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9492438"},{"teacherId":7996849,"projectId":9287261,"letterContent":"I write to share that your contribution has made our classroom into a calm learning experience. The cozy beanbags, calming egg chairs, and inviting couch instantly created a space where everyone felt safe, welcome, and ready to recharge. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of fifth graders walk in after a challenging morning, they immediately gravitated toward the soft seating and began using the mindfulness tools we introduced, like breathing exercises and sensory items. Within minutes, their energy shifted from tense to calm, and they returned to class more focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThese resources are already making a difference in our daily routines. Teachers are using the space for brief reset breaks with students who need a moment to regulate their emotions, while small groups participate in social-emotional learning activities here. The wellness center has also become a safe place for teachers to take a moment for themselves, ensuring they can return to their classrooms refreshed and present for their students.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to incorporate structured SEL lessons in the wellness center, including mindfulness games, guided meditation, and coping skill practice. Our goal is to make this space a cornerstone of our school's culture, a place where students and staff learn that caring for mental and emotional health is just as important as academic success.
